MUSIC

To quote one of her favorite ABBA songs, my mother “says I began to sing long before I could talk.” Since then, I have sung at benefit performances, retirement centers, weddings, funerals, and festivals.

I have been a member of several singing groups. In middle school, I started my own glee club in addition to being in my school’s chorus and 7-person honors chorus (both of which won multiple awards at annual Disney Music in the Parks competitions).

In high school, I was part of a student a cappella club, as well as the school’s “21st Street Singers” for all four years of attendance. For my senior superlative, I was crowned “most likely to harmonize.”

I've done a lot of singing onstage as well, as part of musicals and concerts, as well as in BareTroupe, a musical theatre group I managed in college. Some examples can be found on my Performance page.

Beyond singing, I have a deep love of instruments.

In elementary school, I often lead my class' recorder performances. In first grade, I performed “Complicated” by Avril Lavigne at my first ever keyboard recital, and soon after I began taking formal piano lessons on a weekly basis, which I continued through high school.

Over the years, I have also picked up guitar, ukulele, and pretty much any other instrument I could get my hands on.

Music has been and will always be a major (pun intended) part of my life. Over the course of quarantine, my housemates and I have arranged covers of several songs, two of which are below. I am also part of a songwriting club that meets monthly.
