In my childhood, I was enrolled in programs for a wide variety of activities, from gymnastics to cooking to swimming to theatre. Theatre was the one that stuck.
Since the age of seven, I have been in some 40-odd musicals, plays, and performances, and I have worked on the backstage side of things for another several shows still.

What began as a fun after-school activity quickly became one of the greatest sources of joy in my life.
When I think back to my love of community, and my ability to empathize with others,
I believe that theatre is where it truly all began.

“To The Bone” is a beautiful play. The characters are fascinating and compelling and all of them are terrible at keeping it together as they pretend to be normal, playing along until the moment is right to get real.

"The sweetness of her roommate Darcy, played by Kacey Mayeda is the calm in this storm, bringing us back to the humor of the situation. Cutting through all the angst. Kacey is particularly excellent at charming the bite out of everyone.

"'To The Bone' is a truly excellent play. Funny, suspenseful, gorgeously written and utterly human. The characters ooze charm, all of them so different from each other and yet such a perfect fit. It’s an outrageous ensemble. Brilliant and unforgettable and heartbreaking. Go and see this play!!!!!

"Sally Bowles, played by Kacey Mayeda, truly shines bright in this production...
"What makes her performance truly exceptional is the subtle character arc she creates for Sally that mediates between this hollow, grandiose persona and the undercurrent of tension that disrupts and challenges the provocative, superfluous lifestyle she wants...

"In the show’s opening night performance, the emotionally charged rendition was met with a standing ovation by the audience, demonstrating Mayeda’s absolute command over her character."
"But what stands out about Mayeda’s performance is Annie’s small mannerisms that make her distinctly human— trying on ten different outfits before settling on one or stalking other girls on Instagram with her roommate. Mayeda portrays Annie with a seriousness, yet also indulges in subtle and appreciated humor. Soft, emotional, and flawed, Mayeda is not afraid to explore her character, allowing her to make mistakes that connect to the audience on a deeper level."
